Here it is, my Game Boy Showdown 2023 submission.

This game took a week to make, and I really wish I had my assets ready prior to the jam. I wish I could have dedicated it more time, and I'm not proud of the state the game is in. This is my first serious platformer, and I learned everything about this type of game inside that week. Still, thought I would just upload it and give it a shot.

Two things I'm proud of are the contols and some of the animations. Tried to give it a very smooth and polished feel, but alas, I spent too much time on that. I was still fixing those in the fourth day. I tried not to procrastinate a lot, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (in my defense, I was doing this solo!)

Hope you enjoy whatever mess this project is, it's extremely short so take the time to appreciate some of the details.

Tip: if you get a bad ending, try applying the theme of the jam (friendly) to the whole game... ;)

Bahahaaaaa, love the 4th wall break! I also think it's pretty cool your game lets you decide whether you want to be an a--hole or not. Had a great laugh when I got the bad ending! 😆 Decent stage transitions, too! For a 7-day game jam game, it features a lot of content and polish! And ramen! 🍜
